Get Creative! Retirement Gift Idea

We have done thousands of retirement caricatures, and most of them have been desk/office scenes. In a previous post on the blog for our parent company, Leading Edge Gifts, we interviewed our artist, Eric Jones, and he suggested getting a little more creative with retirement gift caricatures.

I understand a caricature showing someone doing what they do every day would be appropriate, but not as fun as an exaggeration of them doing something they only dream of, or would never do, which is what a caricature truly is. Instead of Herb who has arachnophobia sitting at his desk smiling, why not make him nervously day-dreaming about spiders while his colleague drops a fake spider on his shoulder! Now that’s a caricature!

Here’s one of my favorite examples of taking this advice to heart!

“Really love the way you captured the essence of our subject and Sarasota bay–and in record time! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!”

Background: Parachuting over Sarasota Bay, showing Ringling Bridge

Scene Description: Have her wearing black scrubs showing a little cleavage, full makeup, earrings, cute athletic shoes, and a golden, heart-shaped name tag labeled “Sheryl.” Show her tossing a clipboard labeled “Holcomb Facial Plastic Surgery” from one hand and a stethoscope from the other.  Her parachute labeled, “The Sky’s the Limit!”
